About Me

Hello, I’m James. 

It seems that throughout my working life, I have dedicated myself to working with both adults and or with children. The primary focus on enhancing self-esteem and confidence in one way or another. My career journey included delivering courses for Sure Start and Relate, I delivered assertiveness training, self-esteem building and communication skills courses. These courses were designed to empowered students to overcome or mitigate their barriers, fears, and anxieties.

Like many people in life, I have faced my own struggles with self-limiting beliefs, phobias, negative behaviours, and a mindset that hindered my potential. Childhood experiences shaped these challenges, affecting my adult life and making it difficult for me to express myself and meet my needs.

When I decided to take control of my life, I recognised how my thoughts were holding me back and contributing to negative behaviours, so I began my journey of self-improvement.

I immersed myself in self-help books, attended courses, and volunteered in roles that required clear communication. One such role was as a neighbourhood mediator, where I dealt with conflict resolution, a challenging but immensely rewarding experience. These endeavours significantly enhanced my self-development and communication skills.

My most profound personal growth came from my relationship training with Relate and my training as a Learning Mentor with the Plymouth Excellence Cluster. 

Discovering NLP was fascinating for me, I remember attending a day course, a taster day if you like many years ago and thinking then how amazing it was. A transformative moment for me. Unlike traditional therapy, NLP offers a rapid and effective approach to change without delving deep into the content of past issues or fears. NLP helped me overcome my fear of heights, negative patterns, and behaviours.

Through my personal journey and professional experiences, I am passionate about helping other people. Helping them by using NLP to make positive changes in their lives. Assisting them to feel calm and relaxed in any situation

What is NLP?

What does NLP stand for and how does it work?
Neuro- relates to the mind and how our 5 senses gather information from the outside world.
Linguistic- relates to language, verbal and non verbal
Programming- relates to learnt patterns of behaviour and our emotions.

Vision

As a Practitioner I use NLP techniques, principles and ethics to help me, to help  people with a way forward. To remove any self-imposed limiting beliefs. I enable them to overcome their fears and anxieties which helps them to see, hear, feel they have a choice over their emotions, their behaviour and physical states. I help them to reset their thinking, feeling and behaviours on a specific issue that is keeping them stuck or from moving forward in life. Phobias and anxiety can keep people from enjoying life, sometimes everyday life.
